Recognizing the need to prepare Tanzanian graduates to successfully compete at the job market and to inspire them to create new jobs as entrepreneurs when they graduate, the East Africa Speakers Bureau (EASB) in partnership with Vodacom Tanzania will run a series of motivational talk sessions on campus featuring Tanzania’s most experienced corporate executives as guest speakers.
The program intends to enable university students gain insight on various issues pertaining to leadership, career and entrepreneurship. About 15 Universities and colleges are expected to benefit from the program including: the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Journalism and Mass Communication (IJMC), Kampala International University (KIU), Institute of Social Work (ISW), Institute of Finance Management (IFM), College of Business Education (CBE), Ardhi University, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Mzumbe University (Morogoro Campus), Tumaini University (Dar es salaam Campus), Dodoma University, St. Augustine University (SAUT) Mwanza.
This is one of the private sector led human capital development initiative to nurture positive attitudes, inspire ambition and enhance workplace and entrepreneurial skills to Tanzanian graduates through experiences shared by leading corporate personalities in Tanzania on what works in the real world. Most of the selected themes focus on personal development and life skills including mind-set change, attitude, vision and value systems which are pivotal for graduates to achieve their grand visions.
The program schedule released by EASB recently indicates that the program launch will be held at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication on 29th April 2011 and will feature in Mr. Charles Washoma, a distinguished executive who will discuss the essence of Leadership with Moral Authority and Mr. Innocent Mungy, Manager, Corporate Communications, Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) on What Works in the Real World.
During the events, students will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in the quiz competition to win numerous prizes including modems, T-shirts and Caps. This initiative has been sponsored by EASB and Vodacom. For mode details please email jill.muro@eastafricaspeakers.net or call +255 22 2700051.
